#TBRTravel: XO Restaurant and Cocktail Bar, Ghana review – Jide Adegun
On one of my several trips to Accra, I stumbled on this gem of a restaurant called The XO Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
Located in Casley Hayford road, Greater Accra Region in Accra, XO boasts of a special variety of Pan Asian cuisine. Drawing its influences from Taiwan, China and Thailand, it offers a simple yet impressive and concise menu.
Walking into the beautiful ambience of the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by a smiling waitress who smartly ushered me to a table.
Half a dozen shots from Uncle Jack Daniel’s bottle and I was in the right mood for some good food so I ordered for a plate of Gambas Hook and Rice.
The Gambas Hook contained some deliciously well prepared medium sized prawns in some nice Asian sauce. I really can’t say what the sauce was made of, thanks to the now half downed bottle of JD.
I topped this up with XO’s signature drink ‘Journey To The West’, which is a must try by the way. Journey To The West is a lapsang souchong-infused vodka with ginseng, honey and lemon drink. I do have to say that XO has amazing cocktails.
Half an hour later I was on my way out, belly full and off to another bar to find some more whiskey to cap off the night.
